- Synthetic Task
A synthetic task is an
abstraction of a real-world task for research purposes. Whereas a simulation
typically has the “look and feel” of the real environment, a synthetic
task recreates aspects of the task that require the same thoughts and behavior
of the operational task. It simulates the task at a cognitive level.
- Characteristics of the UAV-STE:
- Hardware can be easily configured to simulate co-located or distributed task environments.
- Software allows for rapid scenario change and manipulation of experimental factors.
- Environment is experimenter friendly
- A variety of synthetic tasks can be supported, such as:
- Air Operations Command and Control
- Battlefield Management
